Recognizing their potential for greatness, he set out to transform these century-old buildings, with their wet basements and leaking roofs, into thriving commercial spaces that would preserve their unique charm, style, and historical significance.

One particular gem stood out from the rest – the Ritz Theater, a cornerstone property that captured the imagination with its impressive Egyptian architecture, adorned with terracotta tiles on the exterior and ornate theater moldings within. In 2018, Mike and his team purchased the Ritz Theater, marking the first step in their ambitious plan to revitalize downtown New Kensington.

Mike devised a plan to establish an independently run Voodoo Brewery location within the historic Ritz Theater. The summer of 2019 was filled with anticipation as Voodoo Brewery unveiled a mobile beer container, hosting weekly pop-up events on the grassy space adjacent to the theater. Meanwhile, inside the theater, Mike's team worked tirelessly to transform the 100-year-old property into a fully functioning restaurant.

Undertaking such a project was no easy feat, as they soon discovered. Digging beneath the surface of these aging buildings revealed a multitude of challenges and surprises. The more they delved into the renovation process, the more problems they unearthed. However, the team remained undeterred, determined to overcome each obstacle they encountered.
